I just wanted to let everyone know that we got here safely. My friend Marcelo met us at the door of our plane (no joke) and took us to our hotel. We made plans to move to his place and climb Saturday and since then we have done, well, nothing...except of course walk all of Ipanema to Copacabanna, sat on the beach & ate cheese grilled on a stick, and shrimp (on a stick). It is just beautiful here, rocks (ah a climbers dream) exploding out of the water in every direction, colorful people (who are all too willing to entertain my meager attempts at learning Portuguese), insane drivers, and good food everywhere you turn!!

Libby just called from Salamanca. She's had a great time. Loved it. Sorry to leave but happy to be heading home tomorrow. Hopefully this is be the first of many trips abraod. Next time it'll be to dance.
Eli called : knocking rocks of his tick list left aand right. Finished routes on Fairview Dome, East Buttress Middle Cathedral rock, Astroman and this week Leaning Tower ( 11 pitch 12c trad route ). He's having a fantastic summer. Plans to do Salthe Wall, couple of routes up Half Dome and ? the Nose.
Lori is full steam on re modeling. Rennie you'd be proud. She having fun and working as the general contractor. Looks like it'll be great.
I am home ..1PM on a friday. If you were here Mondo we would have to go riding. Got a meeting downtown later and tomorrow.
