The pre-adventure

Hi Everyone...this is my first attempt at blogging...the whole concept seems a bit funny to me but I figure it will be a nice way for everyone to keep track of Mondo and I. I am confident it will be entertaining to read about our travel antics.

Mondo and I leave for South America in one month and two days, in that time we need to pack up our lives here in southern California, move it all up into storage in northern California, say goodbye to all of our friends, and send Nellee the dog, for her own summer adventure with our friends in Colorado, nothing too superhuman!

We are excited for this 7 week adventure, it will be our longest international trip together. We have a climbing contact in Brazil, he and his wife have offered to be our hotel and airport pick-up service. We are planning on climbing in and around Rio de Janeiro for a week or so. On the 3rd of July we will travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the following night fly to Campo Grande, Brazil. From there we have 2.5 weeks to travel and explore. Our plan is to head into Boliva eventually making our way to La Paz. On the 25th of July we pick up Travis, Mondo's brother, in La Paz, and the three of us have two weeks to do whatever we want. We have to be in Cusco, Peru by the 8th or 9th of August, to confirm our 4 day Machu Picchu trek, which begins on the 11th of August. On the morning of the 16th of August we fly to Lima, Peru and on the 18th of August, all three of us leave to return home!

We each have things we REALLY want to see and do..I am obsessed with seeing pink river dolphins, capybaras and climbing at Sugar Loaf in Brazil, Travis really wants to eat guinea pig in Peru, and Mondo is excited about Machu Picchu
